Day 1: Arrive to Nairobi
Arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, where you will be received and welcomed by your Tour~Driver Guide for onward transfer to the 4 star overnight hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. In case you wish to see some of Nairobi's sights and sounds, we can arrange a brief drive through the city center, time allowing. Transfers to these can be arranged on request.
Overnight at the 4* Four Points Sheraton Nairobi Airport hotel or similar.
Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, you begin your safari by taking a scenic drive to the world famous Masai Mara. Stop enroute at the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment to see the stunning views. You will also see the Masai people on the way, who live unaffected by modern civilization. Check in at your luxury camp and enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will be taken for a game drive in the park.
Overnight at Basecamp or [ Mara Leisure Tented Camp / Masai Mara Sopa Lodge or similar ].
Day 3: Masai Mara
Today you will explore the great Masai Mara. After an early breakfast set off for your game drive. You may stop and walk at special sites such as rivers where you can see hippo and crocodiles. Return to the camp where you can enjoy a refreshing swim before your buffet lunch. Later in the afternoon leave for another gamedrive to explore another part of the reserve. Expert game-tracking skills of your tour guide cum driver. Enjoy a buffet dinner at the camp.
Overnight at Basecamp or [ Mara Leisure Tented Camp / Masai Mara Sopa Lodge or similar ].
Day 4: Masai Mara – Amboseli
Depart after breakfast to Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at Amboseli around mid-day. After checking in at Ol Tukai Lodge, you will have enough time for lunch and refreshed up before the afternoon game drive. Amboseli is home to some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. In this evening game drive you will encounter not only the elephants but other wild animals such as lions, buffalos, giraffes, leopards and cheetahs. The world’s largest free-standing mountain will serve as the perfect background as you explore the open plains. Towards dusk you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Amboseli
Your second day at Amboseli will start bright and early as there is much to do and see on this day. After a hearty breakfast, you will venture out for a morning game drive. One advantage of Amboseli over other parks is that vegetation is sparse, which makes game viewing easier. At day time, the beauty of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro is indescribable. Good thing you have your camera with you to immortalize these moments.
The park has numerous swamps which attract plenty of birds, so if you are a bird lover you will not be disappointed. Some of the bird species you should expect to see include pelicans, kingfishers and crakes. After an exciting morning you will be taken back to Ol Tukai Lodge for lunch, and perhaps an afternoon dip in the pool. At around 4 pm you will head out again for an evening game drive.
This is the best time to see the animals as they come out to hunt for dinner. Large elephant families will gather around the watering holes to drink and the lions will try their luck at catching dinner.
Day 6: Amboseli – Lake Manyara
Depart after breakfast to Namanga border on the Tanzania side, you will be met by Tanzanian driver guide and transfer to Lake Manyara Serena lodge for lunch. Then embark on the afternoon and sunset game drive through this park well known for its tree climbing lions and over 400 of bird species, primate-filled forests and grassy plains. A large area of the park is covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara, the seasonal breeding grounds for large colonies of flamingos and many more waterfowls. The park is also home to giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. After an extensive game drive leave the park and return to Lake Manyara Serena lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Lake Manyara – Serengeti
After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti to Naabi hill gate for check in, (you can have your packed lunch here while checking in), and you’re now at Serengeti. After lunch, game drive on your way to the central Serengeti possibly your driver guide will have already known where the big herds are located. Sunset game drives on your way to Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water.
Day 8: Full Day Serengeti
Leave the lodge early morning with breakfast box for an early morning game drive in the Serengeti to where the big herds are located; you might spot lots of nocturnal animal coming back after a long night of hunting or a group of lionesses planning a hunt or a hard of buffalo lazily grazing before getting hot. Break for breakfast in the bush and proceed with game drives until afternoon. Take your lunch break at Seronera visitor’s center and afterward a little rest before embarking on your afternoon game drive. Later evening drive back to your before or after sunset.
Day 9: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Wake up early morning before breakfast; go for sunrise game drive in Serengeti National park. Later return to the lodge for late breakfast, on your outward journey to the park gate, you will enjoy some more game viewing on the way before you leave the Serengeti Park. While check out at the same time embark on the plains bordering the Ngorongoro Conservation area and head to your accommodation located on the edge of the crater for breathtaking views over the caldera at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After early breakfast, leave the lodge and descend into the crater floor for about 6 hours of game drive. This massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The area also supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, eland, warthog and giant hippos to some of the more than 500 bird species can be spotted in this area. Another big draw card to this picturesque place is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. After an extensive game drive, you will leave the crater and drive back to Arusha drop off at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Arusha.
